Interesting, well structured and no essay for exam Empty Interesting, well structured and no essay for exam

This module I found very enjoyable.
Firstly, 15% of your module mark is a lab report which you do as a group of 6. You write a figure title and legend each with a results section. Then you write a short discussion together. As long as everyone is respectful and gets their bit done, not hard to get a decent grade on. Then 5% of your overall mark is a short MCQ with a few calculations.

You then have a further 20% MCQ midway through the semester based on DNA replication and repair in eukaryotes and prokaryotes. Momna runs this and teaches it very well. You get an A4 document with the notes and it is stressed that everything you need to know for the MCQ is in that document, so you just to remember it all and know what every protein and enzyme does.

Then the exam is worth 40%. Unlike other subjects, you don't have to write a fat essay. Instead, you are giving a choice of 3-4 experiments, which have multiple graphs . Your job is to write a title, an abstract and a graphical abstract based on your understanding. For example, in lectures you are lectured about lncRNAs, then you might be given an experiment on that. Difference is, you mainly just need a general understanding of what lncRNAs are and how they lead to cancer as the abstract is based on the data you are given.

Overall, 15% = report 5% = short calculation MCQ 20% = DNA MCQ midterm 40% = exam

Would defiantly recommend.
