Overview:
- Taught ~50/50 by Paul Whitley and Julien Licchesi.
- Essay-based exam, x2 sections (one for each lecturer), answer one of three questions per section.
- Follows nicely from Dynamic Cell 1&2, would recommend if you enjoyed those modules.
Coursework (20%):
- Short answer questions, 100 marks total.
- Coursework is designed to help with exam revision as it requires consolidation of lecture content, plus additional reading (lots of recommended articles on moodle).
Exam prep:
- Both lecturers provide very useful resources on moodle.
- Similar questions/themes across past papers, particularly for PW's section.
- PW provides detailed feedback / model answers for his section of past papers. Less so for JL's section.
Other:
- JL includes two 'journal club' lectures, which taught how to read/understand/critique literature/techniques used in the field. Papers provided ~1 week beforehand to read in advance.
- Final lecture is an MCQ quiz covering all topics (not assessed). PW also provides an MCQ on moodle for his topics (not assessed). Both useful for revision.
Summary:
- Well structured module, interesting content, would recommend.
